Full Moon Meanderings + Practical Magic | January Edition

Hello Reader,

We’re opening 2026 with a powerful moon, and she arrives with both tenderness and intensity. The Wolf Moon reached peak fullness in Cancer early this morning, our first Super Full Moon of the year, appearing larger and brighter than a typical full moon because of its closeness to Earth. We’ll see her in her fullness throughout the weekend. It’s a great time to cleanse your sacred items to make your potent moon water for use in ceremony.

I’ve been feeling this moon as a return to the inner home. A place of quiet, stillness, and creativity that will guide my path for the next year. You might be in the same space, especially with the turn of the calendar into the year of new beginnings, this year of the horse. Seeds of change are being planted for what is calling us to the right path that will undoubtedly bring all aspects of life into alignment.

I invite you to consider what you need most to help you evolve into the vision you have for your life, family, practice, or authentic self more fully.

As you ponder that question, answer it as though you are already living it. Create your “I AM” or “I HAVE” statement to support what you need and plant it in the cave of your heart in the cosmic womb of the universe to be nurtured into being.

Even if you are living your best life right now, the push of evolution still churns within us to expand and grow.

Now what about this full moon?

Cancer Full Moon

Cancer is ruled by the moon, so it amplifies our emotional field, which can push us into big feelings. It will bring to the surface our thoughts about belonging, attachment, home, family, chosen family, and the protective instincts we built to survive. Under this lunation, you may feel more sensitive than usual, and your intuition may deepen. Look up your moon sign and the energies surrounding it, and notice what emerges for you.

This Cancer moon also shines a light on boundaries, especially the kind that aren’t harsh, but devotional. The kind that say, “My softness deserves support.” If something is asking to be released, it may not happen through a dramatic ending but through a quiet decision to stop overreaching, stop explaining, and stop abandoning your own needs in the name of peace.

This is a moon that asks for real support, simple, consistent, embodied.

I’d like to offer you a simple ritual for this Super Full Moon.

Full Moon Ritual

Tonight, under the glow of our Full Moon, or within a couple of days on either side, create a few quiet minutes for yourself. Dim the lights, put a hand on your heart and a hand on your belly, and take a few slow breaths until you can feel your body arrive. Then write down one way you’ve been over-carrying, emotionally, relationally, or energetically, and name what it has cost you. Under that, write what you’re ready to choose instead, even if it’s small. Read both out loud, slowly, as if you are speaking directly to the part of you that has been working so hard. When you’re ready, fold the paper and place it somewhere meaningful, your altar, your journal, under a glass of water by your bed, or release it safely by tearing it, burying it, or burning it. To close, hum gently for a few breaths, a low, steady tone, and let the vibration settle you from the inside. If you like to clear your field, you can brush down your arms and torso with your hands, or use a clearing stone such as selenite or kyanite, and imagine your body becoming your home again.

Doing the work.

And if this Full Moon is stirring deeper layers, grief that’s been humming under the surface, old family patterns, or a tender threshold you can feel in your bones, I’m also available for one-to-one somatic coaching and sound healing sessions. These sessions offer a slower, more private container for nervous system care, gentle release, and integration at a pace that feels safe for your body. Schedule your free consultation here.

As this Super Full Wolf Moon rises, my hope is that you feel empowered in choosing what truly supports you. You are allowed to need comfort. You are allowed to change your mind. You are allowed to stop carrying what never belonged to you.

In gratitude,

Opportunities to Gather

There are a few opportunities to experience community and sound in a safe and supportive space. If you have questions about these offerings, please feel free to reach out. I'd love to hear from you.

Although I am taking the winter months off from in-person sound baths, I will use this opportunity to nurture virtual sound journeys and collaborations. Please keep an eye out for a special announcement and gatherings in collaborative events.

Imbolc Sound Immersion @ Merakí Collective, Vancouver, Washington | Saturday, January 31

Imbolc is a threshold.
Not winter. Not spring.
The quiet in-between where something new is already stirring beneath the surface.

Join Sasha Bainson and me for an Imbolc Sound Ceremony—a space to rest inside the bardo, the liminal pause between what has been and what is becoming.

We’ll open with a ceremony and ritual, then settle into an immersive dual crystal singing bowl sound bath, woven with inspired song and organic acoustic instruments to create a lush soundscape. This is a space for your nervous system to soften, your breath to slow, and your inner flame to be gently tended.

Come cozy. Bring a journal.
Arrive exactly as you are.
Let the returning light meet you where you stand.

Plant Medicine Retreat — August 2026, Where the Forest Meets the Sea.

This summer, we’ll gather for a slow, ceremonial weekend to listen deeply, tend the heart, and receive the teachings of plant allies with reverence and care. The container will include preparation, guided ceremony, integration circles, nourishing meals, and time on the land—crafted for tenderness, clarity, and respect for each participant’s process.
